What this service does

You give it a public web address and a condition. It fetches that address on a schedule and notifies you when the condition becomes true. That is all it promises.

What it does not promise

That a check will always succeed. Sites change, go down, and block automated traffic.
That an alert will arrive instantly, or at all. Checks are spaced by your chosen interval, and delivery depends on the chat or push service you chose, or your mail server.
That the value read is correct. It is read from a page that someone else controls.

Do not use it as the only safeguard for anything where being late or wrong costs you money, a place in a queue, or anything else you cannot afford to lose.

Fair use

Only monitor pages that are publicly reachable without logging in.
Do not use it to get around a paywall, a queue, a lottery, or a site's own terms.
Do not set intervals faster than a site can reasonably bear. The minimum interval exists for that reason and is enforced on the server.
Do not point it at somebody's personal information, or use it to track a person.
One account per person. Creating extra accounts to get more free monitors is not allowed and is actively limited.

Accounts that break these can be disabled without notice. You remain responsible for what you point it at and for respecting the terms of the sites you watch.

Payment

The service is free: 5 monitors per account. Nothing is for sale yet. If paid options are added, their price and terms will be on this page before anything can be bought, and nothing you use now will start costing money.

Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like from the account page; it takes effect immediately and takes all your data with it.

Liability

The service is provided as-is, with no warranty. To the extent the law allows, whoever runs this site (the team behind Watchpost) is not liable for losses arising from a missed, late, duplicated or incorrect alert. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
